ISA Certified Arborist

In some professions, certain qualifications may be overlooked. We know that it takes more than a white truck and a logo to be a professional. That’s why at Hamlin Tree Care, Inc we provide our customers with the care and attention of the highest industry standard certification: an ISA Certified Arborist.

What does it mean to be an ISA Certified Arborist?

In order to properly explain what an ISA Certified Arborist is, we thought it best to reference the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA)’s own description:

An arborist, by definition, is an individual trained in the art and science of planting, caring for, and maintaining individual trees. Arborists are knowledgeable about the needs of trees and are trained and equipped to provide proper care … Certified Arborists are individuals who have achieved a level of knowledge in the art and science of tree care through experience and by passing a comprehensive examination developed by some of the nation’s leading experts on tree care. Certified Arborists must also continue their education to maintain their certification and adhere to a Code of Ethics. Therefore, they are more likely to be up to date on the latest techniques in arboriculture.

Why is it important to hire a certified arborist?

Your landscape, whether for your home or your business, is an important investment. A well-maintained and healthy landscape can add substantial value to your property as well as attract more business. Conversely, a poorly maintained or sick landscape can detract from your property or business.

Trees and plants are complex organisms and proper maintenance for a healthy, lush landscape requires more than just watering. Hamlin Tree Care, Inc has an ISA Certified Arborist on staff in order to provide a reliable source of information for the proper care of your trees.

How do you become a certified arborist?

The ISA says:

Becoming an ISA Certified Arborist is a voluntary process through which individuals can measure their knowledge and competence required to provide proper tree care. ISA Certification is not government-sponsored or government-endorsed; it is administered by the International Society of Arboriculture as a way for tree care professionals to demonstrate their commitment to the profession and the industry.

The ISA Certification requires a comprehensive examination testing the knowledge of the potential arborist. The ISA also requires a regular maintenance of credentials in order to assure that each certified arborist is knowledgeable of the latest techniques in arbor care. Finally, the ISA requires that each member follow their ISA Certified Arborist® Code of Ethics. The Code of Ethics helps dictate client interaction and assures consistency in experience of customer service across the country.
